PROJECT OVERVIEW

The internship that I have been doing for nearly 2 months was a part of myIndustry University project in which we were meant to find ourselves an industry internship of our choice and spend 30 days with our host company. I have done my internship in 2 different companies: SheerLuxe and Maya Magal London.

The final outcome of the project is a video diary that shows our work and experience during our 30 days in the industry.

My first internship started at the beginning of February and I was located in the marketing office at SheerLuxe, an online magazine

that covers all the topics from fashion and interior to food, health and wellbeing. The marketing department is responsible for contacting influencers and brands, maintaining social media, checking the content and visual side of the publication. It is also responsible for the production of The SheerLuxe Show, which is a talk show published on their website and YouTube channel.

My responsibilities were scheduling social media, checking the copy, researching brands and influencers, managing VIP post, and checking timeframes for each section of The Show as well as preparing props and the set. Besides, I was trying to help everyone with their daily tasks, as we have maintained really good office relationships. Those four weeks that I have spent at SheerLuxe went very quick and at the very end, I was offered to come back. That makes me very happy becauseI really enjoyed it and think that it could actually be the right path for my future.

My second internship was marketing focused as well, it was totally different from the first one. My role was a Marketing Intern at Maya Magal Jewellery London, a small business with a Head Office located in Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross.

My work was focused on creating video and photography content for their website and social media, as well as taking part

in scheduling and managing the website and online orders. I was really enjoying the content creation part and felt a part

of the team. I was supposed to be there for four weeks but because of the coronavirus outbreak the Head Office and all the shops had to be closed and my internship ended after 3 weeks. I was really sad because I did not even have a chance to say goodbye,

but my Marketing Manager Tamsin ensured me that we will stay in touch and after this all ends they will reach out to me.
